Please allow me to introduce myself to you. My name
is David Fonseca, Mayor of the City of Belize.
Having served the residents of the Belize City for
the past fifteen years of City Hall, I have had the pleasure of
working closely with the national government, other municipal governments,
the private and public sectors and various non-governmental organizations
to help improve and develop our City.
Today, Belize City is far more modern with improved
infrastructure and better amenities. The only English-speaking county
in Central America, Belize has become a very popular tourist destination
for hundreds of thousands of travelers, including North Americans
and Europeans.
Belize City, which is home to seventy thousand multi-cultural
residents, is the prime commercial capital of our country, Belize.
Not only do we boast some of the most breathtakingly spectacular
natural resources, but we are also very proud of our greatest resource
– our warm, friendly and courteous people.
I would like to invite you to visit the Belize City
