AHRC Luncheon Focuses on Mental Retardation


The Times Herald-Record

The Orange County Association for the help of Retarded Citizens held a Spring Professional Luncheon March 28 to celebrate Mental Retardation Awareness Month at the Southwinds Retirement Home in Middletown.

County Legislators Jeffrey Berkman and Ben Winstanley presented a proclamation clebrating the occasion to Ann Campbell, AHRC board member.

More than 80 community, agency and public officials attended, including Orange County District Attorney Frank Phillips, representatives from Congressman Ben Gilman and Assemblyman Jake Gunther's offices and Deputy County Clerks Maureen Hudson and Mary Coleman.

Dr. Kathleen Bishop of Rochester gave a presentation on aging dementia and people with disabilities.

the law firm DeProspo, Petrizzo, Longo and Bartlett of Goshen sponsored the event.
